We continue our tour with a visit to the Achilleon Palace, built by the Empress Elisabeth of Austria. The next stop is the Distillery to sample the local liqueur Kumquat and other spirits
From here we travel inland to Paleokastritsa, the most popular and picturesque area of the island. There we will visit the 13th century Greek Orthodox monastery. Free time for lunch, swimming, or boat trips to caves to enjoy the turquoise crystal-clear waters. We continue to Bella Vista, described by Lawrence Durell as having the most beautiful in the whole Mediterranean. The next stop is in “Makrades village”, where you can find several local products such as olive oil, honey, spices, olive wood products, and typical Corfiot souvenirs. We follow the road to the old fishing village “Kassiopi” for a coffee. After that, we go along the Eastern Coastline, where we make a stop at “Kouloura” and “Kalami” for photographs, which is the closest point from Corfu to Albania and also the place where famous British author Lawrence Durell lived with his family. We return in the afternoon, enjoying the scenic routes of the northeast parts of the island.
